Let’s go out on a limb here and say that despite our Canadian grudging about winter…. we truly deep down adore all signs of the spirit of the holidays. Whether it is the nostalgia of Christmas times past, or seeing the season’s wonder for the first time through a grandchild’s eyes.  The binging of romantic Hallmark movies that always end well and perfectly timed snow that arrives once all the holiday shopping is done.

We bake, we prep, we sing carols and roll in the snow.  We celebrate this time in so many ways.  As our culture is so diverse, we all have different ways to enjoy this time and find meaning in different activities.  Traditions of all kinds seem most prevalent during the holiday season.  The annual ball, the family gatherings, the bake sales, New Year’s promises….

What I enjoy most at this time of year is the lights.  Indoor, outdoor…everything just twinkles a little bit more and creates so many opportunities to capture photographs in mood lighting.  I can’t wait to see what you share with us about what this season means to you.
