SUMMARY:April Photo Challenge-Still Life Food
DESCRIPTION:We often overlook the foods we eat every day as something worthy of a photograph.  Until you are in a restaurant and every table has a cell phone snapping pictures of their dining experience online.  But the simplicity of a single fruit\, a bundle of produce\, or a morning coffee is an art and offers limitless possibilities.   Try capturing your holiday baking or sweet treats. Even raw ingredients like grains or berries can make for a great photo filled with texture or colour details.  Experiment with the natural light\, sculpting light\, maybe even candlelight to create a story with food. \nMembers can upload images to the dropbox through the website for tickets to the Holiday Potluck prize draw.  You are also welcome to share on our Club Facebook page. \n \n  \n  \n  \n

SUMMARY:Indigenous In Full Regalia Photo Shoot

SUMMARY:Bringing Light to Portraits - Darren Creighton
DESCRIPTION:Bringing Light to Portraits \nWhether it’s in a studio or on location\, adding an off camera light can really enhance the look and feel of an image. \nJoin Darren for a look at using off camera strobes to literally “bring light to your portraits”.  He will talk about lighting concepts\, equipment\, camera/strobe settings and thought processes. Geared to inspire with lots of behind the scenes images showing lighting setups and ideas. \n \nDarren Creighton \nI was born and raised in Welland Ontario. As a kid I was into creative things like drawing\, music & skateboarding. A friend of mine introduced me to photography when he did a photo shoot for the band I was playing in. Shortly after that I picked up my father’s 35mm Minolta\, made my first print in the darkroom and was hooked! That was 1997 and it’s been a creative passion in my life ever since. \nPhotography to me is such a great means of expression. It’s the exploration of your vision and ideas mixed with light\, composition\, storytelling\, technique & sometimes luck. When these elements come together it can feel like magic. It’s addicting. \nI love how with camera in hand\, you see and appreciate the world in a whole new way. \nWebsite  / Instagram \n  \n \nDoors open at 6:30\nMeeting starts at 7:00 \nYou can find details about our guest policy here.
