And with the range of editing software and technology available on the market today\, you might say photos have increased their worth a thousand-fold. A nicely edited photo could be worth a million words (or a million dollars\, in some cases)! \n\n\n\nHalf the battle when it comes to good photography lies in editing. Blips\, wrinkles\, shadows\, blurs and even colors can all be altered so realistically an objective viewer would not be the wiser. In other words\, a bad photograph can be transformed\, and bad photos can be salvaged\, to a point! Magic can be created with a few clicks of the mouse or swipes of the tablet. \n\n\n\nPlease join us as we walk you through basic editing to enhance your photos. In this presentation we will be using and showing you H0W TO USE SNAPSEED TO ENHANCE AND EDIT YOUR PHOTOS – Added bonus – The software is free! The tools found in Snapseed are similar to other editing software and we ill discuss the similarities.Snapseed is a free photo editing app that comes loaded with image manipulation tools and presets that are quite easy to use. The app is supported by Google\, which is a plus when it comes to quality and reputation. The app allows you to edit and fine-tune things like brightness\, saturation\, contrast\, curves\, shadows\, and much more—giving you a surprising amount of control over the final look of your photos.Where to download Snapseed.Snapseed works with Android and iOS and can be downloaded in the Google Play or Apple App Store for your iPhone\, Android\, iPad\, tablet\, etc. You can also download the Snapseed desktop app for PC or Mac online for free. \n\n\n\nDoors open at 6:30 pm URL:https://haldimandphotographyclub.com/event/may-monthly-meeting-basic-photo-editing/ LOCATION:Ontario CATEGORIES:Meetings END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=America/Toronto:20240411T190000 DTEND;TZID=America/Toronto:20240411T210000 DTSTAMP:20240331T033502Z CREATED:20240331T033246Z LAST-MODIFIED:20240331T033502Z UID:1801-1712862000-1712869200@haldimandphotographyclub.com SUMMARY:Organizing Your Images DESCRIPTION:Doors Open at 6:30 pm \n\n\n\nPresented by: Peter Charles \n\n\n\nOrganizing our images is one of those busy work things that has to be done but doesn’t produce those good vibes that we get when making those images. However\, fail to organize\, then it doesn’t take much time before we experience the irritation of facing image storage chaos and that we can’t find anything. It’s very frustrating when we can’t find our images afterward\, plus it can be expensive when we constantly are buying more storage capacity for our computers\, that in reality we don’t need. In this presentation we’ll be looking at good organizational methods\, including the idea of reducing the clutter before we even press the shutter release. \n\n\n\nWe’re going to look at four aspects of keeping our images organized: shooting deliberately\, culling viciously\, software solutions and hardware requirements. We’ll look at RAW vs. JPEG file sizes and ask the hard questions about RAW. We’ll look at ways to avoid cluttering up our hard drives with large RAW images that we’ll never use\, for part of image management is to know when to shoot RAW and when not to\, when to save those big RAW files and when to delete them.  \n\n\n\nPros\, out of necessity\, know how to do this as the financial consequences for failing to be organized can put them out of business. As enthusiasts we don’t have that hanging over our heads\, but we can make our photographic lives more enjoyable if we don’t give in to image collection chaos. \n\n\n\nPlease note that the workshop is free for our members and a cost of $20.00 for Non-Members. If a Non-members decides to join then we will reduce the membership fee by $20.00 URL:https://haldimandphotographyclub.com/event/organizing-your-images/ LOCATION:Ontario CATEGORIES:Meetings END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=America/Toronto:20240314T190000 DTEND;TZID=America/Toronto:20240314T210000 DTSTAMP:20240305T135711Z CREATED:20240305T043755Z LAST-MODIFIED:20240305T135711Z UID:1547-1710442800-1710450000@haldimandphotographyclub.com SUMMARY:March Meeting - Photo Critique Night DESCRIPTION:Doors Open at 6:30 pm \n\n\n\nIn preparation for our Spring Gallery starting in April at Edinburgh Square\, we have decided to have a photo critique night. At the meeting we will view each photo and provide you with constructive feedback that will help fine tune your photography skills. I encourage all members to submit some photos. Especially if you’re looking to take your photography skills to the next level\, then a photo critique is exactly what you need. \n\n\n\nYou can drop your images in our Dropbox folder using this link: https://www.dropbox.com/request/IdWnOUNxXLiHPixkAEem URL:https://haldimandphotographyclub.com/event/march-meeting-photo-critique-night/ LOCATION:Ontario CATEGORIES:Meetings ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:https://haldimandphotographyclub.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/03/DSC05639.jpg END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=America/Toronto:20240208T190000 DTEND;TZID=America/Toronto:20240208T210000 DTSTAMP:20251011T012455Z CREATED:20240121T195348Z LAST-MODIFIED:20251011T012455Z UID:607-1707418800-1707426000@haldimandphotographyclub.com SUMMARY:Hands-on Macro Workshop DESCRIPTION:Doors open at 6:30 \n\n\n\nParticipants will have the opportunity to visit a number of stations designed to build macro skills. Each station will be equipped with a “How to Achive this Image” instructions. Where available special equipment will be available for you to try. \n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nPlease come ready with your camera and the following if you have them: Tripod\, Macro lens\, Diffusor/Refelctor\, Flash \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\nPlease note that the meeting is free for our members and a cost of $20.00 for Non-Members. There are concrete geometric techniques that we can use that take the mystery out of composition.  \n\n\n\nWe live with this geometry in our own bodies\, so without knowing it we already know it. The challenge is to take this innate knowledge and give it life in our images. In this presentation\, we’ll look at how we can use this geometry in the composition of our images. \n\n\n\nNon-Member Fee of $20 for this session – eTransfer HPCtrust1@gmail.com to attend \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n  URL:https://haldimandphotographyclub.com/event/november-monthly-hpc-meeting/ LOCATION:Ontario CATEGORIES:Meetings END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=America/Toronto:20231012T190000 DTEND;TZID=America/Toronto:20231012T210000 DTSTAMP:20260827T150235Z CREATED:20230912T023559Z LAST-MODIFIED:20260827T150235Z UID:239-1697137200-1697144400@haldimandphotographyclub.com SUMMARY:Open House DESCRIPTION:HPC Open House\n\n\n\nCome and join us for our Open House for 2023 and meet your committee.
